Maggie Watkins has over 20 years of experience providing marketing and business development services to law firms and other professional service organizations, both internally and externally as a consultant. Most recently, she worked at Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP, an Am Law 200 law firm with nearly 500 lawyers located in eight offices in Alabama, Florida, Mississippi, North Carolina, Tennessee and the District of Columbia, in both capacities. As the firm’s Chief Business Development & Marketing Officer, she was responsible for all of the firm’s business development, marketing and communications initiatives.
Prior to joining Bradley Arant, Ms. Watkins was the Chief Marketing & Business Development Officer at the law firm of Best Best & Krieger LLP; the Chief Marketing Officer and Director of Marketing and Communications at LECG, an international publicly traded expert services and consulting firm; and President of Meritas, a global alliance of 175 independent full service business law firms in 80 countries, encompassing 5,000+ lawyers. She also has tenure with a large regional law firm and several local and international accounting and insurance firms.
Ms. Watkins is a seasoned professional services executive with strategic planning, marketing, sales and business development, client relations, public relations, communications, and community relations expertise. She focuses on metrics and analytics to drive revenue and change lawyer behavior.
Ms. Watkins is an active volunteer in professional and community organizations. On a national level, she is a past President of the Legal Marketing Association (LMA) and the Association of Accounting Marketing (AAM). She has served on numerous boards such as the Alzheimer’s Association (Chair), Corporate Directors Forum, Girl Scouts, American Heart Association, Project Concern International, to name a few. She currently sits on the boards of the ABA Law Practice Division’s Women Rainmaker’s Committee, Leadership California and the International Bipolar Foundation
A frequent speaker, Ms. Watkins regularly addressees management, professional and non-profit groups on a variety of topics.
She has received many honors including “Women Who Mean Business,” “Marketing Professional of The Year,” “Cool Woman” and she was one of San Diego Magazine's "50 to Watch."
Ms. Watkins is a graduate of University of California, Los Angeles. She and her husband Bob have four dogs: Winston, Bernie, Barney and Mr. Bojangles.
