Susan Letterman White, as the founder of Letterman White consulting sets the values and direction. Susan was an employment law litigator and trusted advisor to her clients for more than 20 years and a managing partner of a Philadelphia law firm before she began her Master of Science studies in Organization Development. She has received advanced training in group dynamics and facilitating groups from NTL Institute, is certified to administer and interpret the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI®), and is experienced using the Leadership Practices Inventory, and Thomas Kilman Conflict Mode Instrument. Susan’s background, which includes a J.D. from Loyola Law School in 1985 and a B.A. in Philosophy from Brandeis University in 1980, informs her approach to solving the business problems that lawyers face. She has developed and delivered trainings and workshops to hundred of clients, facilitated meetings of law firm partners, designed and delivered retreats to improve communications and business strategies, coached individual lawyers and professional staff, and led complex consulting projects aimed at diagnosing and changing ineffective law firm culture. She approaches her projects through the lens of behavioral psychology and systems thinking. She helps law firm leaders at all levels of the organization to effectively address the issues that keep them up at night with compassion and tenacity. Susan is especially experienced with transforming dysfunctional groups and firms to effective teams and organizations. Susan is the author of Power and Influence for Lawyers: How to Use it to Develop Business and Advance Your Career (Published by West/Thomson - Reuters), Co-Chair of the ABA Women Rainmakers 2011-2012, a reviewer for the Academy of Management, and active member of National Association of Women Lawyers, the American Bar Association Law Practice Management Section, and the Pennsylvania Bar Association Women in Profession.
